This last September, Samuel was in his very first Primary Program. I was so excited to see my little "sunbeam" on the stand participating with the other children in our church. We had been working on his line with for weeks, and when he got to the microphone he said "I know Jesus loves me when I pray." I didn't exactly jump out of my seat, but I kind of bounced on the pew a little as I silently cheered and applauded.
When Samuel came home with his line to learn, Jimmy and I were both eager to help him. We were so eager in fact that Jimmy tried to use a sales technique and trap him into practicing. He said, "Samuel, we are going to work on your line for the Primary Program. Do you want to do it tonight or tomorrow?" Jimmy had given him two clear times to choose from . . . there was no way Samuel would be able to get out of it! Samuel paused for a moment, so Jimmy asked again, "Samuel, tonight or tomorrow?" Samuel then replied, "Daddy, I do it to later."
