Rachel and I are very excited to have started this website and blog so we can be better at keeping everyone updated on what's going on in our lives. It has certainlyy motivating us to write more so you all can have something to remember us by during the months and years that we are not with you. The plan is to post a newsletter once a month. After that, no promises but we hope to regularly post to the blog all the interesting, meaningful or fun thing we encouter on a day-today basis.
That being said, today we had a lovely Mother's Day celebration. During Sacrament Meeting, the Primary children got up to sing "Mother, I Love You". It was Samuel's first experience singing with the Primary. However, he is extremely shy when it comes to singing, even around his mom and dad. But he had fun, and we were proud of him. He stood there in the front row of children and kept his lips closed tightly throughout the entire song. It was delightful. After church, we went to Elizabeth Park, the nation's oldest municipal rose garden, with beautiful flower gardens of all type during the spring and summer months. We had a nice picnic, then a walk around the park to enjoy the lovely tulips in bloom and other scenery.
Some exciting news came last week, I was selected among a pool of applicants to be a contributing editor for the American Student Dental Association. I will be responsible for monitoring issues of concern to dental students, submitting article ideas and themes and identifying potential contributors for ASDA's publications. I am very excited to begin my term on June 1, 2007.
This month, George will be undergoing a battery of tests and exams. This week he will be going to CCMC for an MRI of his brain and a broncoscopy. He has a peculiar barking cough that has persisted pretty much his whole life, but is getting worse. He finds it very stimulating to hack and cough pretty much all the time, as well as grind his teeth, which sounds like taking two jagged rocks and rubbing them together. You can imagine the kind of stares we get in the grocery store and other public venues. He will also be visiting the geneticist and pediatric neurologist this week.
As my Grandma Andersen used to say, "Sping has sprung, the grass is riz." We are enjoying the most beautiful season of the year here in New England. Rachel and the boys have been able to make regular daily trips to the school playground across the street from our house. All the trees are blossoming. Samuel likes to go the "big kids" playground, which is ok by George because its closer to the street where he can watch all the cars go by.
Our upstairs neighbors were asked to leave in two months so the landlord's son can move in. They have been living here for 7 years. We are extremely grateful that we weren't the target, the last thing we need at this time is a move.
We are looking forward to the John and Laura Heidenreichs moving to nearby Concord, New Hampshire. I've been searching the web and have found the perfect home for them once they have sold their house in Arizona. It's always wonderful to have familty nearby. Now Rachel and I have an excuse to travel to New Hampshire.
