I spent part of this weekend in Chicago at the ADA Headquarters. It was my first meeting with the ASDA Editorial Board. My flight was cancelled Friday night due to a nasty storm that was moving towards the East Coast. I had already checked in, gone through security, and was waiting at the gate for three hours before they made the announcement. So I called Rachel and she found someone to watch our sleeping children so she could come back to the airport to pick me up.

So Saturday, I ended up flying to Chicago, spending five hours in a meeting, and then flying back to Hartford on the same day. Exhausting! Well, after I boarded the flight home, I settled in, put my ear buds in and dropped my iPod into the magazine/barf-bag pocket in front of me and closed my eyes for a little nap. About half way into the first song, the music cut out and there was this odd buzzing sound.

Perplexed, I grabbed the iPod out of the pocket in front of me to find that it had locked up. Then I noticed that it was wet, for some odd reason. I leaned forward and peered into the pocket, to find that someone had left their complimentary beverage cup there as a present for me. The ice had melted, leaving a few ices of water in the bottom, and it was just my luck to have turned on my iPod, and unknowingly dropped it into a cup full of water! So now it looks like the iPod is fried. I am so sad because I just bought the thing in November, so I will not be able to get a replacement for some time. I have an appointment at the Mac Genius Bar tomorrow, so I am hoping that they can work their magic on the thing.

**UPDATE** This story turned out to have a happy ending, read this post to find out more
