We got this pig for George a few months ago and he took to it immediately. He gets especially histerical whenever it stops to "oink".

Old Cowhand

We all dressed up as cowboys at out church Halloween Party today. It was a chance for me to get out the rope and practice my tricks. I haven't roped since before Samuel was born, so he was a little nervous about it all.

Last month I made the cowboy costume I am wearing in this video. It won me first prize at an ASDA costume dinner party at the ASDA Annual Session in Ft. Lauderdale. I sewed it from leather we got at the Tandy Leather factory. Needless to say, its will have to be my Halloween costume for the next 20 years to recoup the cost! Someone suggested that I take up roping as entertainment at parties to make a few bucks on the side. I think I'll stick with dentistry!

The Walls Come Tumblin Down

Today we were blessed with the arrival of Joshua Edwin Heidenreich. I put together a quick video of Day 1 with the little man.

Rachel went in for a routine non-stress test (surely a misnomer!) two days ago and they decided to keep her until the baby came. With this unexpected arrive (well, unexpected this early!), the walls certainly have been shaking, if not starting to tumble down. Lets hope we can recover, and not suffer the same fate as Jericho!

Spinning Song

As you may have witnessed before, George has a few favorite songs that he will drag us over to the piano to play. On of them is called the Spinning Song. I learned this song back in the day when I was taking piano lessons (circa 1988). For some reason this tune has stayed in my head for the past 20 years, and I though George would like it. We looked it up on the internet, where able to download the sheet music, and sure enough, George loves it.

In this clip you will notice the game we play with George. We start playing the song, and he flaps his arms and dances. We will stop playing for a few seconds, at which point George will grab our arms or hands and push them back to the keyboard to continue the song (If you try playing the song straight though, he will do the same thing to make you stop!).

Coincidentally, George likes to spin in circles as we play the "Spinning Song" for him. What an intelligent little fellow!
